News assistant
Work requirements:
Chinese national
proficient in English (or German)
keen interest in news and current aKairs
self-motivated and pro-active
preferably with some previous experience as a news assistant with an international media outlet
Your tasks will include:
Keeping an eye on news developments, alerting our correspondent to any breaking news and other urgent developments
Keeping an eye on social media, informing our correspondent of any trending topics and interesting debates
Keeping an eye on upcoming events such as political meetings, party gatherings, businessforums, trade fairs, scientific conferences, informing our correspondent and taking care of accreditation formalities
Identifying and pitching potential news stories
Finding and contacting interviewees, making appointments
Translating during interviews
Planning field trips and accompanying our correspondent on research missions
Desk research
OKice administration
Occasional personal assistance
